Director – Connie Von Petzinger
 The Board of the Lake of the Woods District Property Owners
Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Connie
Von Petzinger as Executive Director effective February 1,
2008.
As a permanent island resident on Lake of the Woods, Connie
Von Petzinger respects the history of the area, the spirit of
the people, and the future of the lake. She grew up with a colourful rural background in the Ottawa Valley. After
college, she moved to the flats of Alberta where she
established herself in the construction industry, owning her
own renovation company and successfully winning numerous
project awards with the Home Builders Association. Long term
involvement with the Home Builders Association serving on both
local, regional and national committees and boards has given
her a broad background of building membership rewards, setting
policies and standards, actively implementing programs, and
creating partnerships with government and stakeholders.
Her Chicago born husband introduced her to Lake of the
Woods and their decision to move to the lake in 1996 was an
easy one – she was returning home to the Canadian Shield. They
homesteaded a 40’s log home on an island in Whitefish Bay near
Sioux Narrows. Their home is designed for both summer and
winter use and the elements of Lake of the Woods have never
stopped providing an enriched education. Her position as
Account Manager to a medium-sized resort in the area has given
her an appreciation of tourism and its impact to the Lake of
the Woods area.
Connie is proud to be part of an organization that is
dedicated to the interests of its members while being a
collective voice of stewardship for the future of the Lake of
the Woods area and the quality of life for those who live and
vacation there.
